Revised B.Ed. Curriculum (Semester II) Implementation Workshop
As per the request from all quarters the Board of Studies in Education has planned to organise Implementation workshops on the Revised B.Ed. Curriculum with special emphasis on the second semester. The tentative schedule and venues are given below. We owe a great to the efforts taken by Dr. Santhosh Kumar G.R. (Chairman, Board of Studies) and Dr. Suresh B. (Syndicate Member) for getting an amount of Rs. 3.00.000/- (Rs. Three lakhs) sanctioned by the University of Kerala. Let us all join hands to make the workshop a success so that the innovations in the new curriculum can be used to the benefit of the prospective teachers.

Feedback of Semester I (A constructive and creative
deliberation is solicited)
Identify difficult areas and Entrusting Material preparation
by the group members based on the topics in Semester II (The subject convener
can discuss with the subject groups and entrust the topics in advance so that
they get sufficient time and materials for preparation)
Talk/Presentation of new topics in the syllabus
Day 2
Discussion with special emphasis on practice teaching and
internal assessment
Invited talk on Techno pedagogic component
Presentation of the prepared papers on the difficult topics

Community Living Camp
“Community Living camps help the students in understanding the core of rural life, their problems and needs, and help them in preparing a plan for social work practice and community development”
Objectives of Community Living Camps:
(i)
To make the student teachers understand the rural
social system and importance of community living
(ii)
To promote social accommodation and broaden the mental
abilities of the student-teachers, ie., to help them to develop capacities and
attitudes suitable for group living
(iii)
To help the students develop their sense of care,
compassion and social responsibility
(iv)
To assist the students in learning through the
experience in group living so as to develop their social responsibility.
(v)
To acquire skills in planning, organizing, administration and implementing camp
programmes with productive use of time, communication skills, working with team
spirit, handling relationships and conflicts, seeking co-operation and
coordination whenever required, etc.
(vi)
To develop critical thinking about various social and
educational issues

To inquire in to
the cultural, social, scientific, educational and environmental aspects of a community
